J2’s product has significant traction, and we have runway to grow the team. With 20+ paying customers, revenue doubled in the past 6 months, and  3+ years of runway, we are well positioned for the next leg of dynamic growth. A team of industry insiders and technologists backed by leading VCs (Tiger Global, Primary Ventures, Box Group), we are looking for a scrappy generalist Product Designer, interested in building a high-growth, mission driven healthcare company.

As the first Design hire, you  both set and execute against our company’s Design objectives. As our company grows, you will have the opportunity to build out the Design organization as a strategic leader and people manager. This role reports to the Head of Product. We are looking for a candidate in the New York City area; we’re in-person at our beautiful office with Statue of Liberty views 3 days per week.

In this role you will be responsible for:

  • Building out J2’s product design best practices  and a scalable design system
  • Leading user research and communicate your learnings and findings cross functionally
  • Simplifying our user’s journey through multiple analytics modules and developing the onboarding  experience to J2’s web application
  • Working closely with Engineering and Product to define and build new features
  • Developing select branding assets

 

All Candidates must have: 

  • 5+ years of experience, including experience:
      • building or contributing to a design system
      • conducting user research and interaction design on a B2B product
      • working in a fast-paced startup environment, and switching frequently between a 10,000 ft and 10 ft view
  • Ability to clearly communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders to deliver ambiguous projects on time and within scope.
  • People management experience, or a strong desire and demonstrated commitment to growing into a people leader
  • Candidates will receive bonus points for:
      • Experience with data-heavy applications, analytics/dashboarding products and/or internal tools
      • Previous experience in health tech

Compensation: $150k-$170k in base salary commensurate with experience plus benefits and equity.

 

The interview process will consist of three rounds after an initial internal portfolio review:

  1. A call with the head of product and a senior product manager. 
  2. An in-depth portfolio review where you will walk through 1-2 case studies of previous work.
  3. A Final round interview on-site where you will meet more of the team and conduct a design challenge.
