We are seeking a skilled Data Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in building and optimizing data pipelines, performing ELT processes, and working within a modern data stack. The role will primarily focus on designing, implementing, and maintaining data infrastructure to support our analytics and data science initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, test, and maintain data architecture to facilitate the extraction, storage, and transformation of raw data for downstream utilization by data scientists
- Work closely with data scientists to implement efficient ELT processes and performant SQL
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to understand data requirements and implement solutions accordingly.
- Ensure data observability, quality, and integrity throughout the data pipeline.
- Optimize and tune existing data pipelines for improved performance, lower cost, and scalability.
- Utilize orchestration tools such as Apache Airflow, Dagster, or Luigi to manage and schedule dbt workflows.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 4-8+ years of experience in data engineering or a similar role.
- Proficiency in SQL for querying and manipulating large datasets.
- Familiarity with dbt best practices
- Experience with building and maintaining data pipelines using tools like Apache Airflow, Dagster, Luigi, or similar.
- Strong programming skills in Python with a deep understanding of great engineering practices.
- Experience working with cloud-based data storage solutions, particularly Google Cloud Storage.
- Experience in working with columnar warehouses such as Bigquery and relational databases like Postgres.
- Familiarity with data modeling concepts and tools.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

Compensation: $160,000-$190,000 plus equity commensurate with experience
